Inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, it fuses modern luxury with serene living spaces for a discerning client.
The design of Uehara House stems from the applicant’s vision to create a serene personal sanctuary in dense Tokyo. On a confined grid-lock site in Uehara, Shibuya, the key trigger was the challenge of balancing abundant natural light and privacy for the client while showing respect for neighbouring properties. The inward-facing double courtyard, minimal external openings, internal-facing windows and chamfered roof became the core solution. This reflects the architect's worldview: a harmonious fusion of traditional Japanese aesthetics of simplicity, tranquility and contextual sensitivity with contemporary luxury. The result is a calm home that nurtures self-healing, declutters the mind and strengthens personal identity. Set for completion in 2026.Uehara, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 151-0064, Japan
