The Enchantee

  • The emergence of new mixed used development in the neighbourhood has informed the urge of architectural design approach for this project to be different yet reminiscent of its own identity and unique style.

The inspiration of the green colour tone facade isn’t primarily the representation of technological or environmental implication, but perhaps an inspiration from Sterling’s Neue Staatsgalerie, where green is contrasting itself with its contextual fabric, it is industrial, it is homage to its industrial neighbourhood. Green has become the architectural ideas of vibrant, witty, fresh, daring and individual. The facade is pixelated and arranged in a series of green toned glass in various transparency, some transparent, some opaque, some appeared more volumetric than the other.

Although they looked random, in fact they are arranged pragmatically to allow views from interior in various degree.  The arrangement weaves itself through different tones with its neighbouring context, like a synergy of interaction, between the building itself, its tenants, users and its surrounding. The podium denotes a collaborative space, offers a completely flexible space for a broad range of tenants. Its entry to the residential component is subdued as to maintain privacy and seclusion to general public. The tower reach 19 storeys in height, occupying the a total of 76 residential units. Its footprint is compact yet sophisticate and sufficient enough to comprise four residential units per floor, cater for young professionals with contemporary lifestyle.
